I’m Peter van Zeist, a technology leader with more than 20 years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Presales and Enterprise Cloud Software.
Not sure how to pronounce my Dutch name? Listen here.Today, I lead Solutions Consulting teams across EMEA and APAC, helping organisations grow through technology while developing high-performing teams, future leaders and customer-centric cultures.
Throughout my career, I have worked at the intersection of business, technology and people. From enterprise collaboration and cloud software to cybersecurity and identity management, I have helped organisations navigate complex technology decisions, drive strategic transformation and create lasting business value. Along the way, I have contributed to enterprise initiatives across a wide range of industries, spoken at industry events and been recognised with multiple awards for performance, leadership and customer impact.
Some of the most defining moments of my career came during periods of uncertainty and change. Following the LastPass security incident, I worked closely with many of our largest customers across Europe, helping them understand the situation, assess risks and make informed decisions during an exceptionally challenging period. It was a responsibility that required transparency, trust and calm leadership under pressure.
Later, as a people leader, I helped guide teams through organisational change and restructuring, supporting employees during periods of uncertainty while maintaining focus, performance and team cohesion. These experiences reinforced an important leadership lesson: people rarely need a leader most when things are going well. They need one when circumstances become difficult and the path forward is less clear.
Interestingly, the name Peter originates from the Greek word for “rock” (Petros / Πέτρος). Over time, I have come to believe that leadership is often less about having all the answers and more about providing stability, clarity and direction when people need it most.
While technology continues to evolve, I believe the most enduring qualities of great leadership remain unchanged: curiosity, trust, integrity, continuous learning and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I enjoy scuba diving, smart home automation, sustainable technology and motorsport. Many of my hobbies share a common theme: curiosity, exploration and a desire to understand how things work.
As a passionate scuba diver, I have experienced firsthand both the beauty and fragility of marine ecosystems. That perspective has strengthened my interest in sustainability and practical ways technology can contribute to a more responsible future. If you want to read more about my scuba adventures, please visit my scuba-blog blogbu.ch.
At home, I enjoy building and automating smart home solutions, exploring new developments in artificial intelligence and finding creative ways to combine technology with everyday life. I also write regularly about leadership, technology, sustainability, home automation and diving, sharing lessons learned from both professional and personal experiences.
But most importantly, I am a husband, father and lifelong learner who enjoys discovering new places, meeting interesting people and collecting stories along the way.
