What if I’m wrong?

What if I’m wrong?

It seems that, no matter what you write on the internet, what opinion you have, you always end up in a discussion. Which is not necessarily a bad thing - I like good discussions and they can help you to better understand a certain topic or the others' point of view. Many topics though are not tangible - are based on assumptions and a certain likelihood. Two recently discussed big topics and good examples are Climate Change and COVID-19 actions. No one can tell for sure how Climate Change will happen, how quickly it will happen, how it will affect…

7 simple tips for good, engaging Video Conferences

Web-based video conferences have become the new normal for those of us lucky enough to be able to work from home during this pandemic. And although they have been around for nearly 15 years not everyone had embraced the simple and easy way to communicate and collaborate! I have prayed this mobile and place independent work style for over 14 years in various positions at remote support and remote collaboration manufacturers like GoToMeeting. And finally, through this tragic pandemic, it has evolved it into the mainstream: Web-based video conferences are a vital part and tool for communication between employees, customers,…

List of all arguments against a general speed limit

As the discussion is currently ongoing in Germany, and I am a petrol head, I have decided to put down a list of all arguments against a general speed limit on German Autobahn. The official number of speed limited Autobahn is about 33% - realistically this is about 45% if you include temporary limits because of weather, road work, etc. - if you even include all regional roads, only 3% of all roads in Germany are unlimited. (source of numbers). Also, the German road traffic laws say that you have always drive in a way that is safe for everyone…

Bank crisis? Euro crisis?

Bank crisis? Euro crisis?

For more than three years, the banking crisis has been on everyone's lips. In recent months, it evolved from a banking crisis to a financial crisis and ultimately to the Euro crisis, continually expanding. Besides Greece, Spain and Portugal also teeter on the brink of financial collapse, with the Federal Republic seemingly always having to contribute and pay. Wouldn't it be easier to exclude these countries from the Euro? Or even better, reintroduce the Deutsche Mark? Is it a EURO crisis or a BANK crisis? I admit, despite regularly reading and watching the news, I long ago stopped understanding everything.…
